Parental Warmth and Parent Involvement: Their Relationships to Academic Achievement and Behavior Problems in School and Related Gender Effects

Parent involvement and parental warmth have been extensively studied in the global literature. However, limited research has conducted on parent India. This study examined as predictors of academic achievement behavior problems. Because problems scores differed gender, gender differences om these relationships were explored. Study questions framed terms Epstein’s theory school, family, community partnerships Rohner’s acceptance-rejection theory. A sample Indian seventh through tenth graders gave ratings involvement. Their teachers Results showed that significant for boys. Parental was a predictor girls. The results regarding supported suggested need to increase awareness importance children India continue support parents maintaining warm accepting with their children.
